Tim Coyne
Trumpeter Timothy Coyne
(www.TimothyCoyne.com)
was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana. He began playing trumpet at age
12 and majored in music education at Ball State University in Muncie,
Indiana, studying trumpet with Professor Paul Everett.
After Tim's third and final season performing in Live Shows at Cedar Point
in 1992, he toured with The Russ Morgan Orchestra for three months. Tim
joined The Business with The Wall Street Horns, an Akron area Chicago-style
blues band, in January, 2003. Due to musical differences, several members
left the group and formed The Wanda Hunt Band, in which Tim still performs
today. He formed The Tim Coyne Jazz Quartet in 1997 and picked up alto sax
in late 2001.
While performing at Chicago's with Wanda on Sept. 6th, 2002, a crazy man in
a zoot suit rushed up to Tim just before the band started their last set and
asked him if he was available to play the next night with his band. The
crazy man was Bobby Jackson and the band, of course, The Sugar Daddies.
After occasionally subbing with the band since 2002, Tim joined The Sugar
Daddies in the Fall of 2004.
Tim is also an active lead trumpet player on Cleveland's Latin music scene
as a member of Grupo Fuego and has performed with other area bands over the
the last few years. He is a recent graduate of Walsh University and resides
in Portage County with his wife, Peggy, and their two sons.
